The only positive of this homestay was the location. It's right on the motorable road near Lopchu and offers a great view of Kanchenjunga.
However, the poor service and lack of even basic amenities makes it a nightmare to stay. We were a group of 16 and our stay was arranged by a tour operator named Pulok Bhadra. We paid close to 5K per room including meals. We felt thoroughly cheated. The food was of inadequate quantity, very limited options. The worst was the lack of basic facilities like flask/electric kettle in the room. No purified drinking water, no cupboard inside room. The temperature inside rooms were a few degrees lesser than outside, because of dampness. We all caught cold, throat infection because of that. We had a horrible stay. The nights were unbearable. Even the morning tea used to be served at 8am in a cup. By the time it used to be delivered, it used to be cold. Never stayed in any property before with such poor service.
I strongly urge not to stay here.

Excellent service and a really great view. The food and atmosphere was quite possibly one of the best I have had in Darjeeling.
I don't know why some people have written terrible reviews of this place. I have spent more than 10 days in total in this homestay over a period of 3 years and the experience has remained consistent. The owner is a humble man and the staff are always attentive. Overall a great experience if you are looking to relax.

During my numerous visits to Darjeeling and surrounding areas, this has been my worst accommodation experience. Our group of 15 visited in late December and found the facilities severely lacking - there weren't even electric kettles in the rooms. The service was abysmal, with damp, dirty rooms and unsanitary bathrooms.
The kitchen's late opening at 7:00 AM meant we couldn't get tea until 7:30 AM, and it was served without any thermal flask to keep it warm in December's cold weather. While the lunch and dinner were edible, the menu options were extremely limited, and the staff showed little interest in providing any snacks.
This establishment offers the poorest value for money - I strongly advise against staying here. Additionally, after one of our group members posted a negative review recently, we noticed a suspicious positive review appeared, seemingly attempting to counter our honest feedback.

Other than the view of the mountains, I didn't find any other area for which I can rate higher then 2 stars for this homestay. During my last visit towards the end of Dec-24, with my family I found very little reactive response from the staff instead of proactive services. Even after requesting for few small asks viz providing a morning tea early (at around 7), breakfast around 9, evening snacks, we hardly received any such services in timely manner. Receiving evening snacks as late as 8pm (request being placed for such being during breakfast) is one such example. Tea served every time was almost cold. Even the nearby cafe served better and hot tea than the homestay in my view. Although the quality of the food was good, options were limited although it's not a remote location (markets available nearby).

Rooms were quite big (can cater to 4 persons appx) but basic facilities /amenities in the room needs improvement viz providing a bigger table and almirah to keep unpacked belongings, electric kettle amongst others.

'Horrible' is the word for the experience we had for our stay. We stayed between 25th to 29th December 2024. We were a group of 16 and booked all the five rooms of this homestay. The homestay doesn't even have the basic amenities like a cubboards in the rooms, toiletteries in toilet or even a water purifier which offers purified water. In this bitter cold, the rooms didn't have electric kettle or even a flask to keep the water warm. We had to buy mineral waters worth 5K for these days for us. Water was freezing cold and my kids got cough and cold by drinking cold water. Morning tea was served at 8am in the morning ad the 2 staffs used to start their day at 7:30. By the time the tea used to be served the tea was cold. We used to get up much before them. The 2 staffs were insufficient to cater to us. Breakfast was pathetic.
The owner seemed to be shameless as even after our repeated feedbacks nothing changed.
Please do not stay in this property as your stay would turn into a suffering.
